MORDEKAI by Ken Borochov is the luxury line of avant-garde accessories created by designer and stylist Ken Borochov. Specializing in the controversially chic, MORDEKAI is influenced by the pageantry of Hollywood and Las Vegas and the swagger of performers and artists like Cher, Andy Warhol, Madonna, Leigh Bowery and Etta James. Black culture, self-expression, royalty, power and extravagance in excess are all themes represented throughout the twice-yearly collections. Borochov uses aircraft-grade aluminum, brass, crystals, gold, exotic feathers, furs, leather and pearls.

KEN BOROCHOV ne Hananya Borochov, creative director of MORDEKAI, is the man crowning and adorning today's most celebrated pop acts. Credited with Mother Monster's many iconic looks, Borochov designed Lady Gaga’s many signature accessories—from her infamous Claw to her custom 24-karat gold wheelchair. MORDEKAI is behind Madonna's headpieces featured in the Rebel Heart album and tour. He’s also credited with crafting Kanye West a Renaissance-inspired crown and outfitting Nicki Minaj in jewelry for The Pink Friday Tour, among other performances. Among his devotees: Cher, Britney Spears, Shakira, Fergie, Rihanna, Lorde, Grimes, Demi Lovato, P!NK, and more have all worn and purchased his creations, many of them custom made.  Borochov’s artful headpieces and jewelry have been featured in every top international and domestic fashion publications including among many others Vogue, W, V, Harper's Bazaar and Interview (cover).

Born in Jerusalem, Israel, Borochov grew up in Los Angeles. A graduate of both New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and the esteemed French couture school, Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, Borochov has worked at the top fashion houses including Celine, Lanvin, Chloe and Christian Dior.  Borochov founded his almost-eponymous brand (it’s named for his father) in 2010 after searching fruitlessly for pieces with the “wow” factor he wanted to see on set. He began producing his own designs and what started organically soon became a passion project that was getting noticed near and far.
